Labour would like to invite members of your organisation to attend an event as part of our Disability Equality Roadshow and meet Shadow Minister for Work and Pensions, Debbie Abrahams.

An easy read version of this invite is attached.

Date: Monday 27 February

Time: 6-8pm (registration from 5.30pm)

Venue: We are 336, 336 Brixton Road, London, SW9 7AA

The aim of the Disability Equality Roadshow is for Labour to hear directly from Deaf and Disabled people which policies Labour should develop to best defend and extend your rights.

The next Labour government will ensure that the UK upholds its obligations under the UN convention on persons with disabilities.

Our commitment to people-powered politics means that we believe that future social security policy should be co-produced with Deaf and disabled people, carers and service providers.

We want to transform our social security system, based on the principles of dignity, independence and support.

This Roadshow is aimed at Deaf and Disabled people, carers and stakeholders. We will listen to your views on improving social security, reducing the disability employment gap, ensuring access to suitable housing and education, and improving the provision of independent living support.

Ian Lavery MP will also be in attendance to hear the views of Deaf and Disabled people on how we can build a more inclusive workplaces part of Labour’s Workplace 2020 consultation.
